Classroom Objects

Hello dear CLIC students!

So, how are you doing this week?
We’re just fine!
By the way, do you remember our last class?

Well, let’s take a look at the picture below and review some classroom objects:

In a classsroom somewhere…

1 a board
2 a board pen
3 a noticeboard
4 a bag
5 a desk
6 a CD player and CD
7 a pen
8 a pencil sharpener
9 a ruler
10 a pencil
11 a folder
12 a piece of paper
13 a rubber
14 a notebook
15 a dictionary
16 a table
17 a chair
18 a radio

Now, let’s try and describe the classroom below!

In another classroom, somewhere around the world…

Can you say where the objects are?
For example:
Where’s the school bag?
Right! It’s on the floor, near the desk!

Now, look at the picture carefully and try to describe this classroom. Answer the questions below to help you!

Where’s the workbook?
Where’s the textbook?
Where’s the ruler?
Where’s the pencilcase?
Where’s the whiteboard?
Where’s the teacher’s desk?
Where’s the projector?

Write a small text about this classroom and write it in your notebook.
You can show it to your teacher and discuss it with your colleagues too.

Now it’s time to look at your classroom!

What’s in your classroom? Discuss it with your classmates and have fun!

You can take a picture of your classroom and describe it. Give the picture to your teacher and ask hi/her to post it online!

You can start with:
In our classroom, we have many books, some notebooks, 25 desks, a blackboard, but we don’t have a computer, a whiteboard, lockers, etc, etc.

In our classroom, the books are on the desks, the balckboard is near the teacher’s desk, the fans are on the wall, etc, etc.

In our classroom at UFS…

Hello, guys!

Pay attention to the ways people say hello and goodbye in the photos below:

At the University...

John: Good Morning, Professor Stevens! How are you?
Professor Stevens: Good morning, John! I'm fine! How about you?
John: I'm fine too. Professor...could you repeat the last lesson again, please? I have some questions.
Professor Stevens: Yes, John! Could we study  in the afternoon? I have class now.
John: Of course, professor. So...goodbye!
Professor Stevens: Goodbye, John!

In the cafeteria...

Sam Li: Hi, Maria! Long time no see... how are you doing?!
Maria: Hello, Sam! It's true! How long time! I'm pretty good. And you?
Sam Li: Good, too! So, tell me...news?
Maria: Yeah, I'm going to Japan on my next vacation.
Sam Li: How nice! I will visit my relatives there, too. Oh, look it. It's time to come back to the job. I'm sorry, I have to go now, Maria. Is your phone number the same? I'll call you tonight to discuss about our trip, ok?
Maria: Yeah, it is! Ok, we talk later! Have a nice day! See you!
Sam Li: See you too!

At work...

Mr. Smith: It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Taylor. You are welcome in our company. By the way,  the lecture about the Economy was really interesting!
Mr. Taylor: Thank you very much, Mr. Smith.
Miss Claire: Mr. Smith, the next meeting will start in few minutes.
Mr. Smith: Oh, yes...excuse me, Mr. Taylor, I must go.
Mr. Taylor: Of course, Mr. Smith. We see each other in the next meeting. Goodbye!
Mr. Smith: Goodbye!

Reflecting

Consider the pictures again and reflect about the questions: How would you say hello or goodbye in these situations? Would you say anything different? Why or not?

Let's interact?!

Look at the picture below and imagine how you can say hello or goodbye to these people. Post your answers on the blog page!

We invite you, guys, to check the Alphabet Song!
